There comes a time when many homeowners find their current space does not fit with their needs and preferences. In some cases, people buy an existing house and would like to customize it to their styles, needs, and preferences. In other cases, people outgrow their current home and decide it’s time for a complete update to that home to meet their current lifestyle. Whatever your goals, Modern Homestead can work with you to convert your current space into the home of your dreams with a whole home remodel.

Ultra-modern look

The image on top is part of a recent project where we remodeled our client’s home in the Boulder Country Club. Let’s take a walk inside to review this featured project. There were dated red oak floors that were an orange and red hue and we completely refinished throughout the home to a medium brown and gray to contrast with the white modern cabinets and countertop. Now we will continue by introducing the kitchen remodeling portion of the project where the homeowner sought a modern clean white look throughout the kitchen. By choosing matte white cabinets with a complementary white quartz countertop, we achieved an ultra-modern look.

Large and open spaces

Here is a view from the family room back towards the dining area and kitchen that demonstrates how large and open the space now feels.

Tour using new technology

The entrance to the home opens up to a staircase to the second level. The existing stairway was heavy in appearance and outdated in style. By rebuilding the stairs and adding a custom steel and cable railing system it completely transformed the visuals of the home upon entering. We invite you to take a tour with us using this new technology to allow you click on a spot, or simply drag your mouse to move to a different place in the home.

Beautiful spacious design concept

We worked on some other areas such as enlarging the master suite by completely reconfiguring the second floor of the home. We added a new closet in part of what was previously a home office space and turned the previous closet into a beautiful spa-like master bath.

New custom spaces

We repurposed the pantry space and reframed the walls to create a new mudroom and laundry room off of the garage. We built a custom bench and storage cubbies. In addition we created a dog shower for the family's medium sized dog. After a hike the owners can take a quick shower to get the dirt and mud off of their pet before entering the home.

Open design concepts

The family room was completely reconstructed. We added matching hardwood flooring and stained the exposed beam the same shade as the flooring. We completely rebuilt the wall with the fireplace, covering a dated brick facade. We also created a new storage niche with custom cabinetry and custom floating shelves that match the flooring. The new dining space is an open concept extension of the kitchen and transition to the new family room.

Spacious kitchen design

One of the most challenging and notable aspects of the kitchen was incorporating a telescoping range fan for the cooktop. It fits invisibly into the newly created island without compromising storage space.

Light and clean design
