Leslie Lavin
Design Director
Leslie brings to Modern Homestead a passion for design and construction and shares the core value of creating a seamless process for homeowners throughout their building project. She truly enjoys working with clients to help them visualize and achieve their goals for their personal spaces.
A Chicago native, Leslie earned her Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois Chicago campus. She has experience in both residential and commercial architecture and has held professional positions in strategic branding around sustainability and graphic design.
Despite Chicago’s amazing skyline and rich architectural history, Leslie decided it was time for a change of scenery. In 2009, she moved to Denver to fulfill her dream of living near the mountains and spending time outside year-round. Expanding on her degree and her interest in the environment, she worked as a sustainability consultant for a large commercial architecture firm. In this role she influenced building design to achieve lofty goals around net-zero energy and water, health and wellness, and created the graphic materials to help communicate and track progress against the targets. She also acted as LEED project manager and helped many large-scale buildings earn LEED certifications and other green building credentials.
After moving to Boulder to be with her husband, it was the perfect time to transition back to working on residential projects. She loves helping clients solve everyday problems in their spaces and to see projects go from conception to completion. When not getting into the nitty gritty details of projects, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter exploring the many wonders of Colorado.
